How to Edit Professional Videos in CapCut
Master professional video editing in CapCut. Learn to import clips, apply precision cuts, add transitions, and export high-quality video in minutes.
- Create a new project and import media. Launch CapCut and select New Project from the dashboard. Click the Import button in the Media tab, select your source files from your local drive, and drag them onto the timeline to begin editing.
- Perform precision cuts and trims. Position the playhead at the desired start point of a clip. Select the clip on the timeline and press Command + B to split the file, then select and delete the unwanted segments.
- Apply transitions between clips. Navigate to the Transitions tab in the top-left toolbar. Drag your preferred transition effect onto the seam where two clips meet on the timeline.
- Add text and motion graphics. Select the Text tab, choose a style, and drag it to the layer above your video. Use the Inspector panel on the right to customize font, color, size, and entrance animations.
- Adjust audio levels and effects. Click on your audio track to open the Audio tab in the right-hand panel. Use the Volume slider to balance levels or toggle on Reduce Noise for cleaner dialogue.
- Export and render your project. Click the Export button in the top-right corner. Configure your settings to 1080p or 4K resolution at 30 or 60 fps, choose your file format, and click Export.
