How to Set a Sleep Timer on Spotify
Set a sleep timer on Spotify to automatically stop playback. Works on mobile, desktop, and web player.
- Open Now Playing on iPhone or iPad. Launch Spotify and start playing any track. Tap the small album artwork at the bottom of the screen to expand the Now Playing view to full screen.
- Tap the three-dot menu icon. In the Now Playing screen, locate the three-dot menu icon (⋮) in the top right corner. Tap it to reveal additional options.
- Select Sleep Timer. From the menu, tap 「Sleep Timer」. A list of preset durations will appear: 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, and Until end of song.
- Choose your duration. Tap the duration you want. Spotify will display a confirmation message showing when playback will stop. The timer begins immediately.
- Set sleep timer on Android. On Android, start playback and tap the album artwork to open Now Playing. Tap the three-dot menu icon at the top right, then tap 「Sleep Timer」. Select your duration from the list.
- Access sleep timer on desktop. On Windows or Mac, start playing any track. Right-click on the album artwork in the Now Playing bar at the bottom. Select 「Sleep Timer」 from the context menu and choose your duration.
- Confirm the timer is active. Look for the clock icon with a countdown timer displayed in the Now Playing view. The remaining time updates in real-time. When the timer expires, playback stops and Spotify does not resume automatically.
