How to Restore Closed Browser Tabs
Restore recently closed tabs in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox instantly. Learn the keyboard shortcuts and menu commands to recover your browsing session.
- Restore a closed tab in Google Chrome. Right-click on any empty space in the tab bar at the top of the browser window. Select Reopen closed tab from the context menu to bring back the most recently closed page. Repeat this action to reopen multiple tabs in the reverse order they were closed.
- Restore a closed tab in Safari. Navigate to the History menu in the menu bar at the top of your screen. Select Reopen Last Closed Tab to restore your most recent session. If you closed an entire window, select Reopen Last Closed Window from the same menu.
- Restore a closed tab in Firefox. Right-click on the tab bar and select Undo Close Tab from the list of options. Alternatively, navigate to the Firefox menu, select History, and choose Recently Closed Tabs to select a specific page from a list of your previous session history.
- Review your browsing history. If the tab you seek was closed long ago, press the browser history shortcut. Scan the list by date and time to locate the specific URL. Click the entry to reopen the page in your current window.
- Restore a full previous session. If you inadvertently closed the entire browser, reopen the application. Navigate to the History menu and select Restore Previous Session or Reopen All Windows from Last Session. This recovers all tabs that were active before the crash or manual exit.
