How to Set Up Google Chrome Profiles
Organize your browsing by setting up individual Chrome profiles. Keep work, personal, and school bookmarks and history completely separate.
- Open the profile management menu. Launch Google Chrome. Click the circular profile icon located in the top-right corner of the browser window, immediately to the right of the address bar.
- Add a new profile. Within the profile flyout menu, locate the 'Other profiles' section at the bottom. Click the '+ Add' button to initiate the profile creation wizard.
- Choose sign-in preferences. Select 'Sign in' to sync bookmarks and history with an existing Google account, or select 'Continue without an account' to create a local-only profile. If choosing a local profile, enter a name for the profile and select a theme color.
- Enable browser synchronization. If you signed in, click 'Turn on sync' when prompted to ensure your data saves to your Google account. This links your extensions, passwords, and browsing history to this specific profile across all devices.
- Toggle between active profiles. Click the profile icon again to view all available profiles. Select any profile from the list to launch a new, isolated browser window for that specific account.
