How to Locate and Verify Game Save Files on Windows

Locate and verify your game save files on a new Windows PC. Follow this step-by-step guide to ensure your progress is correctly synced and stored.

1. Enable hidden file visibility. Many game developers store save data in the AppData folder, which is hidden by default. Open File Explorer, select the View menu, hover over Show, and select Hidden items to ensure these directories are visible.
2. Access the common save locations. Most games save progress in one of three directories: your Documents folder, the %LOCALAPPDATA% folder, or the %APPDATA% folder. Press Windows Key + R, type the respective folder path, and press Enter to open the directory directly.
