How to Fix Health Data Syncing Issues Between Wearables and iPhone
Troubleshoot and resolve sync failures between your wearable device and the Apple Health app. Follow these steps to restore data flow.
- Verify Bluetooth Connectivity. Open Settings and select Bluetooth. Ensure the toggle is set to On and your wearable device appears under My Devices with a Connected status. If the status is Disconnected, tap the device name to re-establish the link.
- Confirm Health App Permissions. Navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security > Health. Select your wearable's companion app from the list. Ensure that all requested data categories are toggled to the On position to allow write access to the Health database.
- Force a Manual Sync. Launch the companion app for your wearable. Locate the Sync or Refresh command, usually found within the dashboard or device settings menu. Pull down on the main screen to initiate a handshake between the wearable and the app.
- Check for Firmware and App Updates. Open the App Store and tap your profile icon to check for pending updates for your wearable's companion app. Simultaneously, check the device settings within the app to ensure the wearable firmware is on the latest version.
- Re-establish Data Source Priority. Open the Health app and tap the Browse tab. Select a data category, such as Steps, and scroll to Data Sources & Access. Ensure your wearable is listed as an active source and move it to the top of the priority list if other apps are interfering.
