How to Use Your iPhone as a Webcam

Turn your iPhone into a high-quality webcam for video calls and streaming. Works with Mac, PC, and popular video conferencing apps.

  1. Update to iOS 16 or later. Open Settings > General > Software Update. Install any available updates. Continuity Camera requires iOS 16 or later for iPhone and macOS Ventura 13.0 or later for Mac.
  2. Enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices. Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your iPhone and computer. Both devices must be signed into the same Apple ID for Continuity Camera to work automatically.
  3. Position your iPhone near your Mac. Place your iPhone within Bluetooth range of your Mac. The devices will connect automatically when you open a video app. Your iPhone will show a notification asking to use it as a camera.
  4. Select iPhone camera in your video app. Open FaceTime, Zoom, Teams, or any video app. In camera settings, select your iPhone from the available cameras list. It appears as 'iPhone Camera' or similar.
  5. For PC users: Install third-party software. Download apps like Camo, EpocCam, or DroidCam. Install the companion app on your iPhone from the App Store. Connect via USB cable or Wi-Fi following the app's setup instructions.
  6. Adjust camera settings during calls. Access iPhone-specific features through your Mac's video app menu or the third-party app interface. Enable Portrait mode, Studio Light, or Center Stage for enhanced video quality.
