How to Customize iPhone Camera Defaults
Standardize your iPhone camera settings to preserve specific formats, exposure levels, and creative styles for every time you open the app.
- Enable Settings Preservation. Open the Settings app and navigate to Camera. Select Preserved Settings to determine which camera modes and filters persist after you close the app.
- Set Creative Controls. Toggle Creative Control to On to save your last used filters, aspect ratios, or lighting effects. This ensures your aesthetic choices remain active for future shots.
- Configure Exposure Adjustment. Within the same Preserved Settings menu, toggle Exposure Adjustment to On. Your manual exposure compensations will now persist between sessions.
- Select File Formats. Return to the main Camera settings menu and tap Formats. Select High Efficiency to prioritize storage space or Most Compatible to utilize JPEG/H.264 formats.
- Default Video Resolution. Tap Record Video within the Camera settings menu. Select your preferred resolution and frame rate, such as 4K at 60 fps, to lock the camera output for video capture.
