Fixing iPhone Connected to Wi-Fi with No Internet Access
Resolve persistent connectivity issues when your iPhone shows a Wi-Fi connection but fails to load web pages or data.
- Toggle Airplane Mode to reset radios. Open Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner of your screen. Tap the Airplane Mode icon to enable it, wait ten seconds, and tap it again to disable. This forces your iPhone to drop all current wireless connections and re-establish a fresh handshake with the router.
- Forget and rejoin the Wi-Fi network. Navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap the blue 'i' icon next to your current network name and select 'Forget This Network'. Confirm the action, then select the network name again from the list and re-enter the Wi-Fi password.
- Reset your router's hardware. Unplug the power cable from the back of your router or modem. Wait 30 seconds to allow the capacitors to discharge, then plug the power cable back in. Wait for all status lights to return to their normal operating state before attempting to reconnect your iPhone.
- Disable Private Wi-Fi Address. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and tap the 'i' icon next to your network. Locate 'Private Wi-Fi Address' and toggle it off. Reconnect to the network to test if the MAC address randomization was causing an authentication loop with your router's firewall.
- Reset Network Settings. Navigate to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset. Select 'Reset Network Settings' from the menu. Enter your passcode when prompted and confirm the action. This erases all saved Wi-Fi passwords, VPN configurations, and Bluetooth pairings.
