How to Clear System Data on iPad
Reclaim storage space on your iPad by clearing bloated System Data. Follow these precise steps to optimize iPadOS performance and recover capacity.
- Verify System Data usage. Navigate to Settings > General > iPad Storage. Scroll to the bottom of the list and identify the current size of System Data to establish a baseline for your cleanup.
- Offload unused applications. Go to Settings > General > iPad Storage. Select any large, infrequently used app and tap Offload App to remove the application binary while keeping your documents and data intact.
- Clear Safari website data. Navigate to Settings > Safari. Scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data, ensuring the All History option is selected to purge stored cache and site-specific logs.
- Force restart the iPad. Quickly press and release the Volume Up button, then the Volume Down button, and hold the Power button until the Apple logo appears. A hard reboot forces the system to re-index files and flush dormant temporary caches.
- Perform a manual iCloud sync. Connect your iPad to a power source and ensure it is on a stable Wi-Fi network. Navigate to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup and tap Back Up Now to finalize pending file operations and log synchronization.
