Customizing Screenshot Markup on iPad
Learn to customize your screenshot workflow on iPad. Configure toolbar opacity, tool selection, and saved preferences for faster markup.
- Capture a temporary screenshot. Trigger a screenshot by pressing the Top button and either Volume button simultaneously. Tap the thumbnail preview that appears in the corner of your screen to enter the Markup interface.
- Minimize the markup toolbar. Tap the ellipsis icon (three dots) on the edge of the markup toolbar. Select 'Auto-Minimize' to have the toolbar shrink when you are actively drawing on the screen, maximizing your view of the content.
- Modify tool opacity. Select any drawing tool, such as the pen or highlighter. Tap the tool a second time to reveal the opacity slider. Adjust the slider to define how transparent your annotations appear over the screenshot content.
- Create a custom color palette. Tap the color circle to open the Colors menu. Select the Grid or Spectrum tab to choose specific shades for your workflow. Tap the plus icon under the 'Favorites' row to save specific colors for instant access.
- Reposition the toolbar. Tap and hold the handle at the bottom of the markup toolbar. Drag the toolbar to any of the four edges of the screen to lock it into a position that prevents obstruction of your work area.
- Save your annotated screenshot. Tap 'Done' in the top-left corner once your modifications are complete. Choose 'Save to Photos' or 'Save to Files' to commit your changes to your iPad storage.
