How to Customize Android Privacy Dashboard Permissions
Take control of your data with this guide on configuring the Android Privacy Dashboard. Learn to monitor app permissions and revoke access to sensors.
- Navigate to the Privacy Dashboard. Open the Settings app on your device. Scroll down and tap Privacy, then select Privacy Dashboard to view the 24-hour summary of app activity.
- Identify active data usage. Review the timeline on the dashboard to see which apps have accessed location, camera, or microphone permissions recently. Tap on a specific permission category to see a chronological list of every application that utilized that sensor.
- Manage permission settings. Tap on any specific app within the dashboard to view its permission history. Select Manage permission to be redirected to the App Info screen for that specific application.
- Revoke sensitive access. In the App Info menu, tap Permissions. Toggle the access for sensitive sensors such as Camera, Microphone, or Location to Don't allow to immediately prevent the application from using these resources.
- Permission Manager. Return to the main Privacy menu and select Permission Manager. This provides a global view of all permissions, allowing you to see every app with access to a specific service like Contacts or Call Logs simultaneously.
