Installing Android means solving for brand, carrier, Google account, backup, messages, and permissions at the same time. Pixel, Samsung, Motorola, and OnePlus all ask the same questions in different rooms. This page keeps the route clear.

How we organizeChoose the Android route first, then move through the spine: Prep, Activate, Sign in, Transfer, Secure, Verify. Keep the old phone nearby until calls and messages pass.
→ Choose your path

Start from the Android phone you have.

Android setup changes depending on brand, carrier, old phone, eSIM, work profile, and whether you are switching from iPhone.

→ Frequently asked

Install, answered.

Android setup questions usually come from transfer methods, RCS, brand tools, and carrier activation.

Q.01Should I use cable transfer or Google Backup?+
Use cable transfer when the old phone is nearby and working. Use Google Backup when the old phone is gone or cable transfer fails.
Q.02Why is RCS not active yet?+
Carrier activation, number verification, Google Messages, or old iMessage settings may still be settling. Test SMS and RCS separately.
Q.03Do I need a Samsung account?+
On Samsung phones, it helps with SmartThings, Galaxy Store, Wallet, backup, and Find My Mobile. You can still use Google for most core Android features.
Q.04When should I move WhatsApp?+
Move WhatsApp during setup if possible. Waiting can work, but it creates more chances for backup conflicts.
Q.05Can I erase my old Android right away?+
Wait until calls, texts, photos, contacts, apps, Wallet, Find My Device, and backup all pass.
Q.06What does not transfer from iPhone cleanly?+
Some app data, paid apps, subscriptions, iMessage habits, Apple-only services, and some photo metadata may need manual cleanup.
