How to Restore an Android Phone from a Google Backup
Learn how to restore your Android phone from a Google Cloud backup during setup. Follow these precise steps to recover your apps, data, and settings.
- Power on the device and begin setup. Power on your device to display the Welcome screen. Select your language and tap Get Started to initiate the initial configuration wizard.
- Connect to a stable Wi-Fi network. Select your local Wi-Fi network from the available list and enter the password. A stable network connection is required to fetch backup data from Google servers.
- Sign in to your Google Account. Enter the email address and password associated with the Google account that contains your backup. Complete the two-factor authentication prompt if prompted on your secondary device.
- Choose the backup to restore. The device will search for existing backups. Select the specific device backup you wish to restore from the provided list.
- Select restore categories. Select the specific data categories you wish to restore, including Apps, Call History, Device Settings, and Contacts. Tap Restore to begin the synchronization process.
- Complete device setup. Follow the remaining on-screen prompts for biometric security and Google Assistant configuration. Once finished, the system will begin downloading your applications in the background.
