How to Set Up a New LG TV
Setting up a new LG TV requires connecting power and input sources, configuring network settings, and optimizing display preferences. This process ensures your TV operates at peak performance with personalized settings.
- Connect the power cable and turn on the TV. Plug the included power cable into the TV's power port and connect to a wall outlet. Press the power button on the TV or remote control. The LG logo will appear, followed by the initial setup screen.
- Select your language and region. Choose your preferred language from the dropdown menu using the remote's navigation buttons. Select your country or region from the list. Press OK to confirm each selection and proceed to the next screen.
- Connect to your Wi-Fi network. Navigate to Network Settings and select your Wi-Fi network from the available list. Enter your network password using the on-screen keyboard. Select Connect and wait for the TV to establish the connection.
- Sign in to your LG account or create one. Enter your existing LG account credentials or select Create Account to register. Complete the required fields including email address and password. Agree to the terms of service and privacy policy to continue.
- Update the TV software. Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Support > Software Update. Select Check for Updates and allow the TV to download and install any available updates. The TV will restart automatically when the update completes.
- Connect your devices. Connect external devices like cable boxes, gaming consoles, or streaming devices to the HDMI ports. Go to Settings > All Settings > Connection > Device Connector to automatically detect and configure connected devices.
- Optimize picture and sound settings. Press the Settings button and navigate to Picture Settings. Select a picture mode that matches your viewing environment—Cinema for dark rooms, Standard for mixed lighting. Adjust sound settings in Audio Settings, selecting the appropriate output for your setup.
