How to Label TV Inputs
Organize your home theater setup by renaming HDMI inputs on your TV to match your connected devices like consoles, streamers, and disc players.
- Open the Input menu. Press the Input or Source button on your remote control to display the list of active HDMI ports. If your remote lacks a dedicated button, press the Home or Settings button and navigate to the Input or Source icon on the on-screen dashboard.
- Locate the Edit or Rename option. Highlight the specific HDMI port you intend to rename using the directional pad on your remote. Look for an ellipsis icon (three dots), an 'Edit' button, or a 'Rename' prompt located near the thumbnail of the input source.
- Select or enter a custom label. Most modern television operating systems provide a list of predefined labels such as Game Console, Blu-ray Player, or PC. Select the appropriate label from the list to update the icon and name simultaneously.
- Create a manual label. If a custom name is required, select the 'Manual' or 'Custom' text entry field. Use the on-screen keyboard to type the device name, such as 'Apple TV' or 'PlayStation 5', and select 'Done' or 'Save' to confirm your changes.
- Verify the changes. Exit the settings menu and return to the primary input selection screen. Ensure the new labels are displayed clearly beneath or beside the corresponding HDMI input icons.
