How to Clean Up Apps on a Smart TV

Remove unused applications and reclaim storage space on your Smart TV to improve interface speed and overall system performance.

  1. Access the home screen. Press the Home or Menu button on your remote to return to the primary application interface. Ensure no background media or streaming services are active.
  2. Enter edit mode. Navigate to the application icon you intend to remove. Press and hold the center selection button on your remote until the icons begin to oscillate or a context menu appears.
  3. Select delete or remove. Choose the Remove App or Delete option from the presented context menu. Confirm your selection when the system prompt appears to initiate the uninstallation process.
  4. Clear system cache. Navigate to Settings, select Apps, then choose Manage Installed Apps. Select any remaining applications and clear their cache and data to release additional storage.
  5. Restart the device. Power cycle your TV by unplugging it from the power source for 30 seconds. Plug it back in to finalize the removal of residual files and refresh the system memory.
