How to Control Your Soundbar with Your TV Remote
Streamline your home theater by using one remote for both your TV and soundbar via HDMI ARC/eARC. Follow these steps to enable HDMI-CEC.
- Connect via the HDMI ARC or eARC port. Identify the HDMI port on your TV labeled ARC or eARC. Connect one end of your high-speed HDMI cable to this port and the other end to the HDMI Out (ARC/eARC) port on your soundbar.
- Enable HDMI-CEC in your TV settings. Navigate to Settings on your TV. Locate the External Inputs or Connection menu and find the HDMI-CEC setting, which may be labeled as Bravia Sync, Anynet+, SimpLink, or CEC depending on your brand. Toggle the switch to On.
- Set the audio output to External Speaker. Go to the Sound or Audio Output menu on your TV. Change the speaker output from TV Speakers to Audio System or External Speaker to ensure the signal is routed correctly through the HDMI cable.
- Enable System Audio Control on the soundbar. Access your soundbar's companion application on your smartphone or use the manufacturer-provided remote. Ensure that the System Audio Control or HDMI Control feature is enabled within the device settings.
- Confirm one-remote functionality. Power off both devices using your TV remote. If both devices turn off simultaneously, the handshake is successful. Power them back on and adjust the volume to confirm the TV remote now controls the soundbar's volume level.
