How to Share Secure Access to Your Smart Lock

Learn how to safely grant, manage, and revoke temporary or permanent access to your smart lock using native app controls and PIN management.

  1. Open the guest access settings. Launch your smart lock manufacturer's app. Navigate to the Settings icon and select 'Guest Access' or 'Manage Users'. This menu acts as the central hub for all entry permissions.
  2. Invite a new user. Select 'Invite' or 'Add Guest'. Enter the recipient’s name and their mobile phone number or email address. The system will send a digital invitation directly to their device.
  3. Set access level permissions. Choose between 'Permanent Access' for residents or 'Temporary Access' for visitors. If selecting temporary access, define the specific start and end dates or recurring weekly hours allowed for entry.
  4. Enable activity notifications. Toggle the 'Notify me' switch for the specific user you just added. This ensures you receive a push notification whenever that specific user locks or unlocks the door.
  5. Create a unique entry PIN. If your lock utilizes a physical keypad, generate a unique numeric code for the guest. Assign this code within the 'Keypad Settings' tab to avoid sharing a master PIN.
  6. Delete expired permissions. Regularly audit the Guest Access list. Tap the user’s name and select 'Remove' or 'Deactivate' once their visit concludes. Deletion takes effect immediately across the lock's local memory.
