How to Remove a User from Apple Home

Learn how to remove access for shared users in your Apple Home app. Follow these steps to secure your smart home and revoke permissions instantly.

  1. Open the Home application. Launch the Home app from your Home Screen. If you manage multiple homes, tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner and select Home Settings to continue.
  2. Access Home Settings. Tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Select Home Settings from the overflow menu to open the administrative panel for your smart home.
  3. Identify the user. Scroll down to the People section. Tap on the name of the individual you intend to remove from your home ecosystem.
  4. Revoke user access. Scroll to the bottom of the user's specific settings page. Select the red Remove Person button.
  5. Finalize the removal. A confirmation prompt will appear on your screen. Tap Remove again to finalize the action and immediately revoke their access to your devices.
