Select the optimal docking station for your workflow by analyzing port requirements, power delivery wattage, and display connectivity standards.

1. Verify laptop port compatibility. Identify the primary connection port on your laptop. USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, or USB4 support are required for high-bandwidth data, power, and display signals. Ensure your laptop port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode if your dock relies on non-proprietary display connectivity.
2. Confirm power delivery requirements. Check your laptop's original power adapter to determine the required wattage. Select a dock that provides equal or greater power delivery (PD) output than your laptop requires. Using an undersized dock will cause slow charging or battery drain during high-performance tasks.
