How to Transfer Data from iPhone to Android
A precise guide to migrating your contacts, photos, and messages from iPhone to Android using the Google Switch to Android tool.
- Disable iMessage on your iPhone. Navigate to Settings > Messages on your iPhone. Toggle the iMessage switch to Off to ensure you continue to receive SMS and MMS messages on your new device.
- Start the Android setup process. Power on your new Android device and follow the initial on-screen prompts. Select your language and connect to a stable Wi-Fi network.
- Select Copy apps and data. When prompted, select Copy apps and data. Choose the option to copy from an iPhone or iPad, then select the wireless method or cable connection prompt provided by the setup wizard.
- Scan the QR code. Your Android screen will display a QR code. Use your iPhone’s Camera app to scan the code, which will redirect you to the Switch to Android app page in the App Store.
- Authorize data transfer. Follow the on-screen instructions within the Switch to Android app on your iPhone. Grant permission for the app to access your contacts, calendar, photos, and videos.
- Initiate the migration. Confirm your selection on the Android device to begin the transfer. Keep both devices close and connected to power until the progress bar reaches 100 percent.
