How to Fix Limited Connectivity Warning
Limited connectivity warnings appear when your device connects to a network but cannot access the internet. This prevents web browsing, email, and other online services from working properly.
- Restart your network adapter. Open Settings > Network & Internet > Status. Click Change adapter options. Right-click your active network connection and select Disable. Wait 10 seconds, then right-click again and select Enable.
- Run Windows Network Troubleshooter. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters. Click Internet Connections and select Run the troubleshooter. Follow the on-screen prompts to detect and fix connection issues automatically.
- Flush DNS cache. Press Windows key + R, type cmd, and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to open Command Prompt as administrator. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter. Wait for confirmation message, then type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
- Reset TCP/IP stack. In the elevated Command Prompt, type netsh winsock reset and press Enter. Then type netsh int ip reset and press Enter. Restart your computer when both commands complete successfully.
- Update network adapter drivers. Right-click Start button and select Device Manager. Expand Network adapters, right-click your Wi-Fi or Ethernet adapter, and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for drivers and let Windows install any available updates.
- Check proxy settings. Open Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy. Ensure Use a proxy server is turned Off under Manual proxy setup. If it was enabled, turn it off and test your connection immediately.
- Reset network settings completely. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status. Click Network reset at the bottom of the page. Click Reset now and confirm. Your computer will restart and reinstall all network adapters with default settings.
