How to Use TikTok Analytics to Track Your Performance

Learn how to access and interpret TikTok Analytics to monitor your video performance, understand your audience, and optimize your content strategy.

  1. Switch to a TikTok Pro account. Open TikTok and tap your profile icon. Tap the three-line menu in the top right corner, then select Settings and privacy. Tap Manage account, then Switch to Pro account. Choose Creator or Business based on your goals and follow the setup prompts.
  2. Access your analytics dashboard. Go to your profile and tap the three-line menu. Select Creator tools, then Analytics. You'll see three main tabs: Overview, Content, and Followers. The Overview tab shows your account performance summary for the last 7 or 28 days.
  3. Review your video performance metrics. Tap the Content tab to see individual video analytics. Each video shows views, likes, shares, comments, and average watch time. Tap any video to see detailed metrics including traffic source breakdown and audience retention graphs.
  4. Analyze your audience demographics. In the Followers tab, review your audience's gender split, age ranges, top territories, and activity times. The follower activity graph shows when your audience is most active, displayed by day and hour.
  5. Track your growth trends. Return to the Overview tab to monitor profile views, followers gained, and total video views over time. Use the date selector to compare different time periods and identify growth patterns or drops in performance.
  6. Identify your top-performing content. Sort your videos by views, likes, or shares in the Content tab to find your best performers. Look for common elements like hashtags, topics, or posting times that successful videos share.
  7. Monitor traffic sources. Check where your views come from by examining the traffic source data for each video. Sources include For You page, Following feed, hashtag pages, and your profile. This shows how users discover your content.
