How to Create and Publish a LinkedIn Newsletter

Learn to set up, customize, and publish your own LinkedIn newsletter to build your professional brand and engage your network effectively.

  1. Access the newsletter creation tool. Navigate to your LinkedIn homepage and click 'Start a post' at the top of your feed. Select 'Write article' from the dropdown menu. On the article creation page, look for the 'Create a newsletter' option below the title field and click it.
  2. Set up your newsletter details. Enter your newsletter name in the title field — this becomes your newsletter's permanent identity. Write a compelling description that explains what subscribers will receive and how often. Choose a publication frequency from the dropdown menu: weekly, biweekly, or monthly.
  3. Customize your newsletter branding. Click 'Add a logo' to upload a square image that represents your newsletter brand. The image should be at least 300x300 pixels for optimal display. LinkedIn automatically crops images to fit, so center important elements in your design.
  4. Write your first newsletter issue. Create compelling content using LinkedIn's article editor. Add headlines, bullet points, images, and links to make your content scannable. Include a clear call-to-action that encourages engagement or drives traffic to your goals.
  5. Review and publish your newsletter. Click 'Next' to review your newsletter setup and first issue. Verify your newsletter name, description, and publication schedule are correct. Preview how your content will appear to subscribers, then click 'Create newsletter' to publish.
  6. Promote your newsletter to grow subscribers. Share your newsletter link in regular LinkedIn posts, add it to your profile summary, and include it in your email signature. Cross-promote on other social platforms and mention it during networking conversations.
  7. Monitor performance and optimize content. Access newsletter analytics by going to your profile, clicking on your newsletter, then selecting 'View analytics.' Track subscriber growth, open rates, and engagement metrics. Use this data to refine your content strategy and posting schedule.
