How to Create LinkedIn Events

Create professional LinkedIn events to promote networking, webinars, and business gatherings. Step-by-step guide with event setup and promotion tips.

  1. Access the LinkedIn Events creation page. Open LinkedIn and click the "Work" icon in the top navigation bar. Select "Events" from the dropdown menu, then click the blue "Create event" button in the top-right corner of the Events page.
  2. Upload your event banner image. Click "Upload cover photo" and select an image that represents your event. LinkedIn recommends 1920 x 1080 pixels for optimal display. The image should be professional and clearly relate to your event topic.
  3. Enter event details and description. Fill in the event name, select the format (In-person, Online, or Hybrid), and choose your date and time. Add a comprehensive description that explains what attendees will learn or gain from participating. Include speaker information and agenda highlights.
  4. Configure location and registration settings. For in-person events, enter the complete address. For online events, you can add the meeting link now or send it to attendees later. Set registration requirements and decide whether to allow attendees to see who else is attending.
  5. Set up ticketing and external registration. Choose whether registration happens on LinkedIn or redirects to an external site like Eventbrite. If using external registration, paste the complete URL where people can sign up. LinkedIn will track clicks but not actual registrations.
  6. Add speakers and co-hosts. Click "Add speakers" to tag LinkedIn members who will present or facilitate your event. Tagged speakers can share the event with their networks and appear prominently in the event details. You can also add co-hosts who can help manage the event.
  7. Publish and promote your event. Review all details carefully, then click "Publish event." Share the event immediately to your feed with a compelling post that explains why people should attend. Use relevant hashtags and tag key participants to expand reach.
