How to Use Instagram Broadcast Channels
Create and manage Instagram broadcast channels to send messages to followers. Step-by-step guide for creators and businesses on iOS and Android.
- Access your Instagram profile. Open Instagram and tap your profile picture in the bottom right corner. Your account must be a creator or business account with at least 10,000 followers to create broadcast channels.
- Navigate to broadcast channels. Tap the three horizontal lines in the top right corner, then select 'Broadcast channel' from the menu. If this option doesn't appear, your account may not meet the eligibility requirements.
- Create your broadcast channel. Tap 'Create broadcast channel' and enter a channel name that describes your content topic. Choose whether to show the channel on your profile and select your target audience.
- Customize channel settings. Set your channel to public or private, choose whether followers can request to join, and decide if you want to allow story sharing. Tap 'Create' to launch your channel.
- Send your first message. Type your welcome message in the text field and tap send. You can share photos, videos, voice messages, polls, and links. Only you can send messages to the channel.
- Manage your channel members. Tap the channel name at the top to view settings. Here you can see member count, remove followers, turn notifications on or off, and edit channel details.
- Promote your broadcast channel. Share your channel link in Stories, posts, or bio to grow your subscriber base. Use the 'Invite' button in channel settings to send direct invitations to specific followers.
