How to Set Up Email on iPhone

Set up email accounts on iPhone using Mail app. Step-by-step guide for Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, and custom email providers with IMAP/POP3 settings.

  1. Open Mail Settings. Launch Settings app from your home screen. Scroll down and tap Mail. Tap Accounts at the top of the Mail settings screen.
  2. Add New Email Account. Tap Add Account at the bottom of the Accounts screen. Choose your email provider from the list: iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, Google, Yahoo, AOL, or Outlook.com. If your provider isn't listed, tap Other.
  3. Enter Account Credentials. Type your full email address and password. Tap Next in the top-right corner. iOS will verify your credentials and automatically configure server settings for supported providers.
  4. Choose Data to Sync. Toggle on the services you want to sync: Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Notes. Leave Mail enabled to receive emails. Tap Save in the top-right corner to complete the setup.
  5. Configure Manual Settings (If Needed). For unsupported providers, tap Other then Add Mail Account. Enter your name, email, password, and description. Tap Next, then choose IMAP or POP3. Enter incoming mail server, username, and password in the required fields.
  6. Set Outgoing Mail Server. Scroll to Outgoing Mail Server section. Enter SMTP server address, username, and password. Enable SSL if required by your provider. Tap Save to finish the manual configuration.
  7. Verify Email Setup. Open the Mail app from your home screen. Your new email account appears in the mailbox list. Tap the account to view emails. Send a test email to confirm outgoing mail works properly.
