How to Block Someone on LinkedIn

Block a user on LinkedIn to prevent them from viewing your profile, sending messages, or seeing your activity.

  1. Go to the profile you want to block. Search for the person's name using the search bar at the top of LinkedIn, or find them through a mutual connection, message thread, or your network. Click on their profile name to open their profile page.
  2. Tap or click the More actions menu. On desktop, look for the three-dot icon (•••) in the upper right area of their profile header. On mobile, tap the three dots at the top right of their profile. This opens the actions menu.
  3. Select Block from the dropdown menu. From the menu that appears, find and tap or click "Block" or "Block [Name]". The option will be near the bottom of the menu, usually accompanied by other privacy-related actions.
  4. Confirm the block action. A confirmation dialog will appear asking if you want to block this person. Read the message to understand what blocking does, then tap or click the "Block" button to confirm your decision.
  5. Verify the block is active. After blocking, you'll see a confirmation message. If you navigate back to their profile or search for them, you'll notice the block is active. You can always unblock them later from the same menu if needed.
  6. Access your blocked users list anytime. Go to Settings & Privacy, then select Privacy. Scroll to Blocking and reporting, and click "Blocked profiles" to see all users you've blocked. From this list, you can unblock anyone by clicking the Unblock button next to their name.
