How to Share a Claude Project
Claude projects allow you to collaborate with team members by sharing conversation histories, custom instructions, and uploaded files. Sharing a project gives others access to your project's context and enables real-time collaboration on AI-assisted work.
- Open your Claude project. Navigate to claude.ai and sign in to your account. Click on the project you want to share from your project list on the left sidebar. The project must be fully created with at least one conversation or uploaded file before sharing.
- Access project settings. Click the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of your project interface. Select 'Project settings' from the dropdown menu. This opens the project configuration panel where you can manage sharing permissions.
- Enable project sharing. In the project settings panel, locate the 'Sharing' section. Toggle the 'Enable sharing' switch to the on position. Claude will generate a unique shareable link for your project that you can distribute to collaborators.
- Configure sharing permissions. Choose the appropriate permission level for shared users. Select 'View only' to let others read conversations and files without editing, or 'Collaborate' to allow full participation in conversations and file uploads. View-only access prevents accidental modifications to your project.
- Copy and distribute the sharing link. Click the 'Copy link' button next to the generated sharing URL. Send this link to team members via email, Slack, or your preferred communication method. Recipients must have Claude accounts to access shared projects.
- Monitor shared access. Return to project settings to view who has accessed your shared project. You can see active collaborators and their last access times. Use the 'Remove access' button next to any user to revoke their permissions immediately.
