How to Verify Your iCloud Backup Before Switching iPhones

Ensure your data is secure before upgrading your device. Learn how to verify your iCloud backup status and trigger a manual sync in minutes.

  1. Open iCloud settings. Launch the Settings app on your current iPhone. Tap your name at the very top of the menu to access your Apple ID profile.
  2. Access iCloud Backup settings. Tap on the iCloud menu option. Locate and tap the iCloud Backup entry to view your current synchronization status.
  3. Review the last successful backup timestamp. Look for the text labeled Last Backup. Ensure the timestamp matches today's date or is within the last 24 hours to guarantee your most recent data is captured.
