How to Customize iPhone App Icon Tints

Learn how to apply custom color tints to your iPhone app icons using iOS 18 customization features to match your home screen aesthetic.

  1. Enter Home Screen Edit Mode. Navigate to your Home Screen. Press and hold any empty area of the background until the app icons begin to jiggle.
  2. Open the Edit Menu. Tap the 'Edit' button located in the top-left corner of the screen. From the dropdown menu, select 'Customize'.
  3. Adjust the Icon Tint. Locate the 'Tinted' option within the customization menu. Once selected, use the color slider to pick a hue and the opacity slider to adjust the intensity of the tint applied to your icons.
  4. Finalize your selection. Once you are satisfied with the look of your icons, tap anywhere on the Home Screen background to exit the customization interface.
  5. Exit Edit Mode. Tap the 'Done' button in the top-right corner to save your changes and exit the Home Screen editing mode.
