How to Share Your Wi-Fi Password from iPhone

Learn how to instantly share Wi-Fi credentials between Apple devices without typing passwords using the built-in sharing feature.

  1. Verify proximity and settings. Ensure both devices are unlocked, placed within range, and have both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth toggled on. Confirm the owner of the network has your contact information saved in their Contacts app.
  2. Select the network on the guest device. On the device attempting to join the network, navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap the name of the network you wish to join.
  3. Confirm the share prompt. A prompt will appear on the host device displaying the network name and asking if you want to share the password. Tap Share Password to authorize the connection.
  4. Complete the connection. Once the password is transmitted, the guest device will automatically populate the field and connect to the network. Tap Done on the host device to dismiss the confirmation screen.
