How to Remove Duplicate Photos on iPhone

Clean up your photo library by merging exact duplicate images and videos using the built-in iOS Photos detection tool. Fast, safe, and efficient.

  1. Launch the Photos application. Tap the Photos icon on your Home Screen. Ensure you are viewing the primary library interface.
  2. Access the Albums tab. Tap the Albums icon located at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down to the Utilities section to view your categorized collections.
  3. Open the Duplicates folder. Locate the Duplicates entry within the Utilities group. If this album does not appear, your iPhone has not yet detected any duplicate photos or videos.
  4. Review and merge duplicates. Tap Merge to combine duplicates into a single high-quality version that retains all associated data. Alternatively, tap Select in the top right corner to choose multiple sets for simultaneous merging.
  5. Verify the merge action. A confirmation prompt will appear asking you to confirm the action. Tap Merge [X] Items to finalize the process and move the redundant files to the Recently Deleted folder.
