How to Use Gemini on iPhone

Google's Gemini AI assistant provides powerful conversational AI capabilities directly on your iPhone through the official app. The assistant handles complex questions, helps with writing tasks, and integrates with your device's camera and microphone for multimodal interactions.

1. Download Gemini from the App Store. Open the App Store on your iPhone and search for 'Gemini - AI Assistant by Google'. Tap Get to download and install the app. The app requires iOS 16.0 or later and is free to download.
2. Sign in with your Google account. Launch the Gemini app and tap Sign in with Google. Select your Google account or create a new one if needed. Grant the necessary permissions when prompted to enable full functionality.
3. Enable microphone and camera permissions. When prompted, tap Allow to grant Gemini access to your microphone for voice conversations. Tap Allow again for camera access to enable photo analysis and visual queries. These permissions are essential for multimodal interactions.
4. Start a conversation with text or voice. Tap the text field at the bottom to type your question or request. Alternatively, tap and hold the microphone icon to speak your query. Release the icon when finished speaking. Gemini processes both text and voice inputs naturally.
5. Use camera for visual queries. Tap the camera icon next to the text field to take a photo or upload an image from your library. Ask questions about what you see, request translations of text in images, or get explanations of visual content. Gemini analyzes the image and provides relevant responses.
6. Access conversation history. Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner to view your conversation history. Previous chats are automatically saved and organized by date. Tap any conversation to continue where you left off or reference previous responses.
7. Customize settings and preferences. Navigate to Settings through the menu to adjust voice settings, manage your data, and control privacy options. You can change the assistant's voice, modify response length preferences, and manage conversation retention settings.
