How to Share Gemini AI Results

Gemini AI generates valuable insights, code snippets, and creative content that you'll often want to share with colleagues or save for later reference. The platform offers several built-in sharing methods plus manual options for different collaboration needs.

1. Access the share menu in your conversation. Open your Gemini conversation containing the results you want to share. Look for the share icon (arrow pointing up and right) located in the top-right corner of the chat interface, next to your profile picture. Click this icon to open the sharing options menu.
  2. Choose your sharing method. Select from the available options: 'Create public link' generates a shareable URL that others can access without a Google account. 'Copy link' creates a private link requiring Google account access. Choose 'Export' to download the conversation as a text file or document format.
  3. Configure link permissions if needed. For private links, click the gear icon next to the generated URL to modify access permissions. Set viewing restrictions to 'Anyone with the link' for broader access or 'Restricted' to limit access to specific Google accounts. Toggle commenting permissions on or off based on whether you want recipients to add feedback.
  4. Share specific responses using the response menu. To share individual Gemini responses rather than entire conversations, hover over the specific response you want to share. Click the three-dot menu that appears in the bottom-right corner of that response. Select 'Copy' to copy the text or 'Share' to generate a direct link to just that response.
  5. Use screenshot tools for visual sharing. For quick visual sharing, take screenshots using your device's built-in tools. On Windows, press Windows + Shift + S to open Snipping Tool. On Mac, press Cmd + Shift + 4 for selective screenshots. On mobile devices, use your standard screenshot gesture (usually volume down + power button).
  6. Export for offline sharing and archiving. Return to the main share menu and select 'Export conversation.' Choose your preferred format: TXT for plain text, DOCX for Microsoft Word compatibility, or PDF for universal viewing. The exported file will download to your default download folder and include timestamps, your prompts, and all of Gemini's responses.
  7. Manage shared content in your Google Account. Access your Google Account settings and navigate to 'Data & privacy' then 'Shared content' to view and manage all your shared Gemini conversations. From here you can revoke access to previously shared links, modify permissions, or delete shared conversations entirely.
