How to Fix Battery Percentage Not Showing

When your device's battery percentage disappears, you lose critical power monitoring information. This guide covers solutions for iPhone, Android, Windows, and Mac systems to restore the numerical battery indicator.

  1. Enable battery percentage in system settings. Navigate to your device's battery settings. On iPhone: Settings > Battery > Battery Percentage toggle. On Android: Settings > Battery > Battery Percentage. On Windows: Settings > System > Power & battery > Battery usage. On Mac: Apple menu > System Preferences > Dock & Menu Bar > Battery > Show Percentage.
  2. Force restart your device. Perform a hard reset to clear temporary system glitches. iPhone: Hold Volume Down + Power until Apple logo appears. Android: Hold Power + Volume Down for 10-15 seconds. Windows: Hold Power button for 10 seconds, then restart. Mac: Hold Power button for 10 seconds, then restart.
  3. Check for software updates. Install pending system updates that may contain battery display fixes. iPhone: Settings > General > Software Update. Android: Settings > System > System Update. Windows: Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Mac: Apple menu > About This Mac > Software Update.
  4. Reset display and accessibility settings. Clear customized display preferences that may conflict with battery percentage. iPhone: Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > reset options. Android: Settings > Display > Advanced > reset to defaults. Windows: Settings > System > Display > Advanced display settings > restore defaults.
  5. Recalibrate the battery indicator. Drain battery to 0% and power off completely. Charge to 100% without interruption while device remains off. Power on and check if percentage displays correctly. This process may take 3-4 hours depending on battery capacity.
  6. Reset all settings to factory defaults. Restore system settings without deleting personal data. iPhone: Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings. Android: Settings > System > Reset options > Reset settings. Windows: Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC > Keep my files.
