How to Delete Gemini Conversation History

Google Gemini stores your conversation history to improve responses and enable context across sessions. You can delete this history either partially or completely through your Google account settings.

  1. Access your Google account. Open your web browser and navigate to myaccount.google.com. Sign in with the Google account you use for Gemini. Click on 'Data & privacy' in the left sidebar menu.
  2. Navigate to Gemini Apps Activity. Scroll down to 'History settings' section. Click on 'Gemini Apps Activity' to view your stored conversations. This page shows all your Gemini interactions across devices and platforms.
  3. Choose your deletion method. Click the 'Delete' button at the top of the page. Select either 'Delete today' to remove recent conversations, 'Delete custom range' for specific dates, or 'Delete all time' to clear everything completely.
  4. Confirm the deletion. Review your selection in the confirmation dialog. Check the box to confirm you understand that deleted conversations cannot be recovered. Click 'Delete' to proceed with permanent removal.
  5. Verify deletion completed. The page will refresh and show your updated conversation history. Deleted conversations will no longer appear in the activity list. Return to Gemini to confirm your chat history reflects the changes.
  6. Adjust auto-delete settings. Click 'Choose an auto-delete option' to prevent future accumulation. Select '3 months', '18 months', or 'Keep until I delete manually'. Click 'Next' then 'Confirm' to save your preference.
