How to Cancel Your ChatGPT Plus Subscription

ChatGPT Plus subscriptions can be canceled at any time through your OpenAI account settings. Your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period, and you retain Plus features during this time.

1. Sign in to your OpenAI account. Navigate to chat.openai.com and click Sign in. Enter your credentials or use your Google/Microsoft account. Ensure you're logged into the account with the active ChatGPT Plus subscription.
2. Access your account settings. Click your profile picture or initials in the bottom-left corner of the ChatGPT interface. Select Settings from the dropdown menu that appears.
3. Navigate to billing and subscription. In the Settings panel, click on Plan & billing from the left sidebar. This section displays your current subscription status and billing information.
4. Locate the cancel subscription option. Scroll down to find the Subscription section. Click the Cancel plan button next to your ChatGPT Plus subscription details.
5. Confirm the cancellation. OpenAI will display a confirmation dialog explaining that you'll retain Plus features until your next billing date. Click Confirm cancellation to proceed with the cancellation.
6. Verify cancellation status. Return to the Plan & billing section to confirm your subscription now shows as canceled. You should see text indicating your Plus access will expire on a specific date.
