How to Disable Noisy Notifications in Windows 11
Stop intrusive Windows 11 notifications by configuring Focus Assist, system settings, and app-specific alerts. Regain control of your desktop workflow.
- Disable global notifications in Settings. Open the Settings app by pressing Windows + I. Navigate to System and select Notifications. Toggle the main Notifications switch to Off to disable all system and app alerts immediately.
- Restrict notifications for specific applications. If you prefer to keep system alerts active, scroll down the Notifications menu to the list labeled Notifications from apps and other senders. Toggle the switch to Off for every application you want to silence individually. This allows essential apps to bypass the silence.
- Enable Do Not Disturb mode. Return to the main Notifications menu and select the Do not disturb toggle. Enable this setting to automatically suppress notification banners while allowing priority calls and alerts to pass through based on your configuration.
- Disable lock screen notifications. Expand the Notifications settings menu and select Additional settings. Uncheck the box labeled Show notification banners on the lock screen to prevent alerts from appearing while your device is locked.
- Suppress tips and suggestions. Within the Additional settings menu, uncheck both Get tips and suggestions when I use Windows and Suggest ways I can finish setting up my device. This stops the operating system from sending non-essential marketing or tutorial prompts.
