How to Record Your Screen on Windows 11
Record your Windows 11 screen instantly using the built-in Snipping Tool. Follow this guide to capture video, audio, and specific application windows.
- Open the Snipping Tool. Press the Windows key on your keyboard and type 'Snipping Tool'. Select the app from the search results to launch the interface.
- Select Video Mode. Within the Snipping Tool window, click the Video Camera icon located in the top navigation bar. This switches the mode from image capture to screen recording.

- Start the Capture. Click the 'Start' button at the top of the selected area. A three-second countdown will appear before the recording begins automatically.
- Stop and Save the Recording. Click the red 'Stop' square button in the recording overlay when you finish your session. A preview window will open showing your captured video.
- Save the File to Disk. Click the 'Save' icon in the top right corner of the preview window. Choose your desired destination folder, name your file, and click 'Save' to export it as an MP4.
