Optimize your Windows 11 performance or battery life by adjusting system power modes. Follow these steps to manage your device efficiency settings.

  1. Open the Settings application. Press the Windows key on your keyboard and click the Settings icon, which resembles a gear. Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut to launch the application directly.
  2. Access the System menu. Ensure the System tab is selected in the left-hand navigation sidebar. Within the main window, click on the Power & battery option to view your power configuration settings.
  3. Locate the Power mode dropdown. Scroll down to the Power section. Click the dropdown menu labeled Power mode to reveal the available presets for your specific hardware.
  4. Choose your desired power profile. Select Best power efficiency for maximum battery life, Balanced for a mix of performance and energy usage, or Best performance for peak system output. The change applies instantly without requiring a system restart.
