How to Update Apps on Windows

A direct guide to updating your Microsoft Store apps and system software to ensure security and feature parity on Windows.

  1. Open the Microsoft Store. Press the Windows key and type Microsoft Store. Select the app from the search results to launch the storefront.
  2. Access the Library menu. Locate the Library icon in the bottom-left corner of the Microsoft Store sidebar. Click it to view your installed applications.
  3. Retrieve available updates. Click the Get updates button at the top right of the Library interface. The store will automatically ping the server for any pending updates for your apps.
  4. Update all applications. Select Update all to begin downloading and installing the pending versions. Monitor the progress bars beneath the application titles.
  5. Confirm update completion. Once all progress bars disappear, verify that your applications are listed under the Recently updated section. You may now safely close the Microsoft Store window.
