How to Remove Bloatware and Trial Apps from a New Windows PC
A clean guide to removing pre-installed trial software and bloatware from your Windows PC to improve performance and reclaim storage space.
- Open the Installed Apps menu. Press the Windows key and type 'Installed apps'. Select the matching system setting from the search results to open the management panel.
- Identify non-essential applications. Scroll through the list of applications. Look for software titles you do not recognize, manufacturer-branded utilities, or trial versions of security software that you do not intend to purchase.
- Initiate the removal process. Locate the target application in the list. Click the 'More options' icon (represented by three horizontal dots) next to the app name and select 'Uninstall'.
- Authorize the uninstallation. A secondary confirmation prompt will appear. Click 'Uninstall' again to confirm your choice. Follow any on-screen prompts if the application launches its own custom removal wizard.
- Restart the system. After removing multiple applications, restart your computer to ensure all background processes, residual registry keys, and temporary files associated with the removed software are cleared.
