How to Activate Windows 11 on a New PC

Follow this guide to activate your Windows 11 license on a new PC. Learn how to input your product key or link your digital license via Settings.

  1. Open the Activation Settings menu. Click the Start button and select the Settings gear icon. Within the System tab, locate and select the Activation menu to view your current license status.
  2. Initiate the activation process. Locate the Activation state section. Click the Change button next to Change product key to open the input prompt.
  3. Enter your product key. Type your 25-character alphanumeric product key into the field exactly as provided. Windows will automatically detect the formatting and validate the key.
  4. Submit the key for verification. Click Next to proceed. The system will communicate with Microsoft servers to verify the validity of the key against your hardware configuration.
  5. Finalize the activation. Select Activate once the verification is complete. The system will display a success message confirming that Windows is now active and linked to your account.
