How to Use Low Power Mode on Apple Watch

Extend your Apple Watch battery life by enabling Low Power Mode. Learn how to toggle it manually or via settings to reduce power consumption.

  1. Open the Control Center. Raise your wrist to wake the Apple Watch display. Press the side button once to reveal the Control Center overlay.
  2. Select the battery icon. Scroll down or locate the circular icon representing your battery percentage. Tap the percentage button to open the power management menu.
  3. Toggle Low Power Mode. Tap the toggle switch labeled Low Power Mode to enable the feature. The switch will turn green to confirm activation.
  4. Review the impact information. A summary screen will appear explaining that features like Always-On display, background heart rate measurements, and cellular connectivity may be limited. Scroll to the bottom and select Turn On or Turn On For… to choose your duration.
  5. Confirm status on watch face. Return to your watch face. You will notice a small yellow circle icon at the top of the display indicating that Low Power Mode is active.
  6. Turn off Low Power Mode. To exit, open the Control Center, tap the battery percentage icon, and toggle the Low Power Mode switch to the off position.
