Configure your Apple Watch to automatically track sleep patterns, set schedules, and view comprehensive health data in the Health app on your iPhone.
- Set a sleep schedule on iPhone. Open the Health app on your iPhone. Tap the Browse tab, select Sleep, and tap Set Up Sleep. Follow the prompts to define your sleep goal and your first sleep schedule.
- Enable track sleep with watch. Open the Watch app on your iPhone. Scroll down to Sleep and tap it. Ensure the toggle for Track Sleep with Apple Watch is set to ON.
- Activate Sleep Focus. Swipe down from the top-right corner of your Apple Watch to access the Control Center. Tap the Focus icon and select the Sleep icon to ensure your device minimizes distractions during your scheduled rest hours.
- Enable wrist detection. Navigate to the Watch app on your iPhone. Select My Watch, go to Passcode, and confirm that Wrist Detection is enabled. This sensor data is mandatory for the watch to identify when you are asleep.
- View your sleep data. Upon waking, open the Health app on your iPhone. Tap the Sleep category to view charts detailing your time spent in Core, Deep, and REM sleep stages. Reviewing this data consistently helps refine your sleep hygiene over time.
