How to set silent alarms on Apple Watch

Learn how to use haptic feedback to set silent alarms on your Apple Watch, ensuring you wake up without disturbing others.

  1. Open the Alarms app. Press the Digital Crown to view your apps. Locate and tap the Alarms icon, represented by a circular clock face.
  2. Add a new alarm. Scroll to the bottom of your alarm list and tap Add Alarm. Use the Digital Crown or tap the time to adjust the hours and minutes to your desired wake time.
  3. Disable sounds via silent mode. The Apple Watch automatically uses haptic feedback for alarms when Silent Mode is enabled. Swipe up from the bottom of your watch face to open Control Center and tap the Silent Mode icon—a bell with a strike through it—to toggle it on.
  4. Adjust haptic intensity. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch. Navigate to Sounds & Haptics and ensure Haptic Alerts is set to Prominent to ensure the vibration is strong enough to wake you.
