How to set medication reminders on Apple Watch

Learn how to manage and receive medication reminders directly on your Apple Watch using the Health app and watchOS interface.

  1. Add medication to the Health app. Open the Health app on your iPhone. Tap the Browse tab at the bottom right, select Medications, and tap Add a Medication. Follow the on-screen prompts to input the name, dosage, and frequency of your prescription.
  2. Set the notification schedule. Within the medication details, define the time of day you wish to receive reminders. Ensure that 'Time Sensitive Notifications' is toggled on to ensure the alerts bypass Focus modes if necessary.
  3. Confirm Apple Watch notification settings. Open the Watch app on your iPhone. Tap My Watch, select Notifications, and ensure Medications is set to On. This ensures alerts sync between your iPhone and your watch.
  4. Log medication from the watch. When a reminder appears on your Apple Watch, tap the notification to view details. Select Log to mark the dose as Taken, or tap Skip if you missed the dose.
  5. Check the Medications app manually. Press the Digital Crown to view your app grid. Locate and tap the Medications app icon. Use this interface to view your daily schedule and mark doses manually if you missed a notification.
