Performing a Final Wearable Setup Check

Validate your wearable device configuration with this final system check to ensure accurate tracking, connectivity, and notification synchronization.

  1. Confirm firmware and software parity. Open the companion app on your smartphone and navigate to General > Software Update. Ensure the wearable and the handset are running the latest stable firmware versions to prevent protocol mismatches.
  2. Validate sensor calibration. Navigate to the Health or Privacy settings within the companion app. Verify that permissions for Motion & Fitness and Heart Rate sensors are set to Always allow.
  3. Test notification mirroring. Go to Settings > Notifications on your phone and ensure the app for your wearable has Mirror My iPhone enabled. Send a test alert to confirm that haptic feedback registers on the wrist device.
  4. Review battery optimization settings. Access the Battery usage menu on the wearable. Confirm that background app refresh is enabled for essential health apps while disabled for non-critical secondary applications.
  5. Execute a hard reboot. Perform a force restart by holding the side button and the digital crown simultaneously for ten seconds until the manufacturer logo appears. This forces the device to re-index all system services and cache files.
